My Review
Three novellas, short and simple, addressing varied conflicts in day to day lives of the protagonists. All three stories are well narrated and touch the human aspect of a relationship which at the outset seems simple but is very complicated.

House of Love
Nikki Desai is a real estate agent—an ambitious, successful businesswoman who seeks her father’s approval for everything, even for her soul mate Karan. As children we do follow and try to emulate our parents to win their approval, but is it really required as one grows older. As adults one should look at their parents as human beings, who can have weaknesses and imperfections. Author has handled a complicated issue with remarkable finesse.

Arranged Marriage
Though Sonali marries Ishan, an NRI, due to parental pressure, she is a little unsure about living in a foreign country. Ishan is a very mature and generous man, but a little ambitious. He shows immense compassion for Sonali by not demanding anything of her as she tries to settle in her new life. The story is sweet and full of compassion but I missed little gestures of intimacy and awkwardness, which creeps in between two unacquainted people sharing a bedroom.

Love Tango
The last one of the series has all colours of a perfect love story. The heroine is exotic, the hero is unique and the passion also builds up. Maya Sarin, a dancer, falls for a handsome restaurateur Tahir, but she gets caught into the web of her own past and insecurities. The conflict is well developed and gets resolved as both communicate with each other.

Overall
Though all three address the various aspects of a relationship, but out of the three I liked ‘Love Tango’ the best. The emotional aspect of the protagonists was the main focus throughout the book, as is the expectation from a romance.

Characters in all the three are well etched and the language is simple and fluent. A light breezy read for a balmy evening. I look forward to other books from Aditi Chopra.
